In Vista favourites are treated exactly the same.

Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Adding pdf documents to favorites
Under XP and IE 7 at least Internet Explorer Favourites are not normally
used for storing documents. I cannot comment on Vista. In XP Favourites
are
normally a set of URL links to locations on the internet that you want
to
return to frequently.
I have not tried to store documents in Favourites or even links to PDF
documents. There may be a quicker way of doing this but the following
should work if your mum really wants to do this. You say that she can use
a
mouse. If she can do this the simplest thing is to move the mouse cursor
to
the link leading to the document . Right click and then select copy
shortcut. She should then go to My Computer and then Local disc C
documents
and settings then her profile folder and finally paste this link in the
favourites folder there . If she wants to do this frequently then she can
set up a shortcut to her favourites folder on her desktop. Simply use the
mouse to right click on Favourites folder and then right click on the
desktop and select paste shortcut.
As I say though this is quite an odd way of accessing PDF documents. Why
not simply download the actual documents and save them in My Documents
folder? Perhaps under a folder called Downloaded Pdf. She can then access
these documents anytime by simply by running Adobe Reader or any other
program you use to read PDF documents . This is not only easier but also
guarantees access no matter what problems are occurring on the internet .
Often I find documents withdrawn or links to them change. Sometimes whole
web sites can close down. If I had not downloaded them I would not be able
to access them .

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Adding pdf documents to favorites
HI.
asking on behalf of my mum.
and she uses a mouse and windows vista.
okay, she downloaded a document from the net, dot pdf.
and she had to download adobe reader 9, and it removed adobe reader 8.
now, so she does not have to remember where the document is, and a
computer
newbie, and not knowing what she is doing, and having to find documents,
in
windows explorer, under downloads, she done it a couple of times, but
maybe
not remember how to do it.
in adobe reader 8, she was able to download and add a adobe pdf file to
her
favorites in internet explorer 7.
and now, she cannot seem to add this current adobe reader document to her
favorites in internet explorer.
never done it my self, so could not offer her any suggestions or help.
she did see a favorite links, but when she clicked on it, it did nothing.
so was wondering, any low vision users, added a adobe pdf document to
favorites in internet explorer?
and has this feature been taken out of version 9?
any help would be grateful.
to do it using the mouse on my dad's acer laptop.
cheers Marvin.
