When we try that site, it says welcome to system access, press enter to
begin. When we press enter it just repeats the welcome phrase. How do you
gain access to the site in order to set up an account and what is the price
of this program?

No Deb. You don't download that program unless you are a paying customer.
You can use it free by signing up, getting your account number and PIN,
then
going to the site, http://www.satogo.com and signing in again. Now, once
SA
is running, you can move to any site you want and it will keep on going.
That's how it works. The idea was to create a speech driven screen reader
which is accessible to anyone on any computer with a sound board. The
great
part is that you can change the voices, speed, volume and so on and then
save them. If you have an account, you can then bring up that screen
reader
wherever you are. I used it once at my niece's house and she and her
husband were amazed. I could navigate her computer resonably well except
for the areas where she had changed things like the screen magnification
and
things like that.
What an incredibel tool!

I used the web site http://www.xmradio.com as a test and ran both
screen
readers.
I tried to use NVDA first. On that web site you will need to choose
"Full
Channel Line Up" to experience the same situation.

With Jaws and NVDA , the speech quit almost immediately. As I mentioned
in
an earlier message, I believe that the problem exists in the fact that
there
are Flash links all over this page. Jaws and NVDA both got jammed up
by
these links and quit entirely. There was literally no way to get them
back
and I tried everything.

Next, I took System Access To Go for a spin and what do you know, it
worked!
For some reason, I'm still not sure why, SA read the links but did not
get
hung up.
On our list is a member called Debbie. She mentioned a web site provided
by
ABC, http://www.abc.com and I think that this site has the same problems
as
the newly designed XM Radio page does.

CONCLUSION: For some limited purposes, System Access, although it's a
very
limited tool, will work where Jaws and NVDA do not.

I thought some of the people here might find this interesting.
