Yes it is, Rosemarie. I have been running test comparisons between Jaws,
NVDA and System Access. I wanted a secondary screen reader to function on
sites where Jaws had problems. NVDA is a good reader but it isn't nearly
as capable as Jaws. System Access is even more limited in functionality but
it can work on some sites where Jaws gets hung up.
I don't know why this should be, Rosemarie. If I had more money to spend, I
believe that I would purchase the paid version of System Access as an
alternative to Jaws when necessary.

Hi, John. I used to have NVDA before my computer crashed in October. It
did pretty good on some web sites. I heard the snapshot version of NVDA
is really good. Is that the one you're using? Just wondering.

Hi group. Some of our International members have recommended NVDA as a
possible alternative to Jaws when viewing certain web sites. It's built
with Open Source code and is much more flexible in some cases. It can't
touch Jaws for normal use but I'm already impressed by what it can do.
I'm going to go to one of the most impossible sites I know which is
www.xmradio.com and see what it does.
If anyone has any suggestions about using this free screen reader, I'd
appreciate some help either on or off of the list.
Thanks to those who recommended it as a possible alternative when Jaws
gets picky. LOL!
