Hi Mike,
It basically allows you to select icons that are on your desktop that you no
longer use anymore, or don't use on a regular basis, and places them in a
folder on your desktop to, either delete, or keep, depending on whether you
think you're going to be using them again or not. Checking this box will
run the wizard every 60 days, whether you need it or not.
In other words, Windows assumes that you don't know what you're doing, and
judging by this message, you don't, LOL, and gives you a reminder that you
might need to clean up your desktop if it's got too much stuff on it.
Just for FYI.
You can also do this yourself by highlighting your My Documents icon on your
desktop, pressing enter on it, then pressing the back space key which will
display your desktop icons in a list view, which you can go through
selecting icons you want to delete or put into a folder you can then create.
So you, see you don't really need the desktop clean-up wizard.
