You could try toggling through the Jaws screen echo settings. You may have All set for some reason. Press insert s to try out each setting. The options are All, highlighted, and none. None might be the best bet to try. I remember once setting screen echo to none to solved a problem like this on an installation of outlook . Oddly although it was set to none it then worked perfectly and Jaws read everything as it should.
