You can rename the hard drive so that when you see it in the list of drives you'll know which one it is. For example, both of my external drives are both named external drive. One is assigned the letter J and the other K. You change this by going into the drives properties with alt-enter. The first thing that should come up is, label edit. This is where you can name the drive. If it says something like "my book," you can change it by simply back spacing out that name and typing in your own. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lois" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 05, 2009 11:47 AM Subject: [Blind-Computing] safely remove hardware question
There are times I have a external drive on and the stream at the same time and would like to know which one I am turning off. Is there a way to find out? They both say, "USB mass storage device."
