Windows 7 will not ship with many of the apps like Windows Mail, Windows DVD Maker, and so on. They are trying to cut down on the bloat and trim down the minimum requirements. I am unclear if you will be able to download these apps separately? I think they intend to push the Windows Live line, and push "cloud computing" instead. I hope this does not mean phasing out free products like Windows Mail that work well. Or move too heavily toward cloud subscription services!
