Personally, I dumped Norton after buying all the 2007 software and finding it completely inaccessible without sighted help. I'd been a happy Symantec customer since 1999, and was surprised to see that they'd gone from very user-friendly one year to completely unfriendly the next.
That being said, I did contact a couple different JAWS-related lists and freedom Scientific to find out about scripts and found out there were none. I also contacted Symantec, informing them that I was far from the only blind user out here and that it was disappointing to see that the changes in the interface made the software unuseable without a sighted person. Their response was to tell me that there are so many screenreaders out there, and it's up to each screenreader manufacturer to make sure the blind can continue to use new programs. They suggested that I should try a different screenreader because their was nothing they could do to help us in the blind community. I say all this to tell you that once my subscriptions were up, I dumped Norton and have since been using a package I stumbled upon called System Suite Professional, made by Avanquest. It works quite well with JAWS and does everything for about 70 dollars that I would have had to spend about 120 to get with Norton. I have internet security, antivirus, anti-spyware, firewall, PC maintenance utilities, and all kinds of other tools. I've used both System Suite 8 and 9 without trouble. You can buy it online or at most Best Buy stores. It's made by Avanquest USA. The other advantage it has over the last version of Norton that I used is that it's not a resource hog. With norton, the computer took forever to boot up, and everything took forever to load. This package is very unintrusive. Also, you get a license to install it on up to three computers. So for one price, our desktop and both laptops are protected. Hope this helps. Do a google search on System Suite 9 and Jaws, and you should find a couple good articles.
