Hello there;

ok, I'm able to scan a document, from Microsoft Office2007, using Kurzweil,
so, I assume, this can be done with Openbook.

the steps are;

1, open MSWord.

2, press the alt-key, you should hear, "ribbon toolbar".

3, right arrow until you hear, "add-ins",

4, now tab one time, you should hear, "openbook scan and recognize", in my case I hear, "kurzweil scan and recognize".
hear you could press, enter, or the spacebar.
also, if you tab once, you should hear, "openbook options, in my case, I hear, Kurzweil options. again, enter or the spacebar will activate, where you can make some changes.

I am not totally sure, if openbook will show, however, I'm assuming, that, whatever the default OCR program is, will show up.

 Hi Lisa,

I don't know if this will work with Word 2007 but, it does work with Office
 2002 & XP Home. Try these steps below.
 1. Open Word.
 2. Alt + F for the file menu.
 3. Arrow down to " scan with Open Book", or press the letter "K".
 Whatever you scan in here will go into a Word document. Take care.

 Mike

 Subject: [Blind-Computing] Scanning and saving a document to my computer

 Hello all,
I have a letter that I would like to scan and save to my computer, so I can
 send it to someone as an email attachment. I know how to scan the letter
and read it with Openbook, but I don't know how to save it to my computer. I would like to save it as a Microsoft word document. Would I half to scan
 it with Openbook in order to save it as a MS word document, or is there a
way to scan it with MS word? I have Openbook 7.02, and MS word 2007 on my
 computer. If anyone can tell me how to do this, or if this can be done I
would really appreciate it! I'm running windows XP home addition with Jaws
 10.
 Take care,
 Lisa
