Be aware that not all USB num pads work with JAWS. I do not know why this is, but I have not been able to find a num pad to use on my laptop. However, when it comes to USB full size keyboards, I've not had any problems with finding one to work. Matter of fact, I just got a full size Flexi keyboard at work to use with my note taker. It is one of those rubber roll-up keyboards. I've plugged it into my computer and it worked just fine.

The keyboard I am requesting is a normal sized one which can be connected directly to the laptop using the USB ports. However, there are various kinds of keyboards available on many web sites. Here are a few I looked at. There's a keypad which is designed to provide the missing numeric keys to a laptop user. It is so simple that all you have to do is plug it in and you're there. One company makes a wireless laptop keyboard which works off of the USB connection and can be carried to within 30 feet of the actual unit. It even has small feet which can be folded out of the base so that you can get that slanted feel that many desktop PC users prefer. I found examples of these additional boards both on the HP web site and on Dell. As a matter of fact, now that I think about it, I think that there are some on Tiger Direct as well. But you can buy some of these nice little things right at your neighborhood big box store like Best Buys or Radio Shack. I hope that this helps.
