How does one retrieve the text of a corrupted message?

It's possible the sent items folder contain corrupted messages. Try deleting
them all.

Hi
I am using windows mail and vista home addition. when I go in to the
sent items folder and try to open some of the older messages I get a message
saying that the message can not be found. Where did the message go? Why is
it still listed in my sent items folder? How do I go about retrieving the
the text of a missing message?
