No you don't need to. Mail and News is no longer in the tools menu.
Instead
use the e-mail link on the start menu.

I just installed IE 8. I previously used IE6. Do I have to reset the
setting I had with IE 6, like enabling cookies? Also, I am having trouble
accessing my e-mail from the tools menu. Is there something I am missing?
