Hi Kate,
I am guessing that your microphone has an earphone style plug. If this is
the case you will want to find the microphone jack on your sound card. On my
desk top computer I had to keep trying jacks until I found the right one.
Next, you will need to go to your volume control panel and locate the
microphone controls. be sure the microphone mute is off and the volume is up. I
normally put the mike volume at 100% but you will want to experiment with this.
After setting the volume controls, you can leave the volume control panel and
use a program like sound recorder to record and play back your voice. It takes
a few recordings to figure out how you like to set your mike.
     I hope this helps.

God bless,
Mark

Subject: [Blind-Computing] [blind-computing] cyber acoustic microphone

Hi all, I bought a cyber acoustic microphone from wal-mart the other day. It
didn't come with any instructions and I haven't found much on the internet to
help me set this up which is terribly blind-friendly. Does anyone have
experience setting microphones up? It's just your standard cheapo desktop
microphone, nothing special.

Thanks,
Kate
