Ok, I fixed it.
To anyone who ever gets in the same bind and wants their good old messenger
back with all accesibility, install version 8.1. this version will not deny
sign on and can be downloaded from microsoft update site.
make sure to remove all traces of this windows essentials thing as well as
sign on helper and everything. then make sure you reboot your machine before
installing 8.1.
