I have un-installed Office 2007 and gone back to 2003 as it seems far
superior in many ways. I cannot remember the 2007 command you require is
but you can in any case get a similar result by loading the high contrast
white on black display theme under display properties.
You can set up a shortcut access to high contrast properties under the
accessibility wizard in control panel. I prefer not to do so because
unamended high contrast does not work well with Jaws. This was a problem
for me as the default colurs provided too much glare for me.

I use a method which allows more flexibility in allocating colours which may
be also what you want .
The following step assumes that you or someone helping you has some sight.
I had to use my daughter to help me.

The first thing to do is save your current theme as something like
original.theme. In Display properties. Save this in a place where you can
easily execute it like your desktop or in your start menu.

The mext thing to do is to load the default high contrast theme. Now go to
the appearances tab under display properties. This is where you will
possibley need some sighted help. Basically you need to replace every
element of the theme which is currently coloured blac with different shades
of blue. If you change windows background colour here to the appropriate
blue you will reproduce the effect that used to be available in Word. I
actually use a dark blue which for my eyes is indistinguishable from black.
You can also change the font colour to yellow if necessary for your sight.
You can then save this as another theme. I called mine Jaws colours. Again
save this where you saved your original thene for ease of changing colours
on your system. I now use a high contrast system developed in this way
which works perfectly with Jaws. Pressing enter on the original or jaws
colurs theme files and pressing enter again when display properties come up
whill instantly change colours on your system

I have got rather a heavy cold whilst typing this so I hope that these
instructions are clear. If it it all seems too complicated you could email
me off list and I could send a copy of my jaws colours theme which yu could
try out. Its also available on my web site below.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Background Color In Word 07

I know in previous versions of Word you could change the back ground color
to blue for people with low vision to be able to see the screen better and
to use to see the formatting. how can you change the back ground color in
word o7 to blue for the same purpose. Thanks in advance for your help!
