Donnie, Although what you are trying to do is probably possible, it is a really bad idea. That "blank " is a vital part of navigating through any screen or web layout. It helps you to figure out exactly where you are. If you have sight, this may not be an issue, but if you are blind, then turning that announcement off might end up putting you on a screen where you have no idea of your location. For example, if you count the number of blanks from the top of a page, you might be able to pinpoint the location of a particular button before you get the chance to label it.
