Thanks for the thoughts. Just downloading the virtual edition now and see how that goes. It may be slow but all i want to do is install it to a pen drive. Once that's done I'll remove it. Thanks again.

Hi Chris,

I also have been having problems burning Vinux 1.4 to a CD! I have tried many times to burn with my favorite utility, ISO Recorder, which is used entirely from context menus in Windows Explorer. I have also tried an unregistered version of Power ISO several times playing with boot options. I have not gotten any errors, but when I start my computer, it will not boot from the CD! I also downloaded the ISO file again and checked the exact byte counts. Nothing seems to work! I have been looking around for a basic image burning utility from Microsoft that I once used. It was basic and very reliable. I don't think that it gets installed, it just runs.

I downloaded the virtual machine as well and might give that a try soon.

I have been excited to find what promises to be a very easy, usable version of Unix again! I hope I can get past this burning problem and enjoy its benefits.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Burning Vinux to a CD-RW

Hello all,
I'm trying to burn Vinux onto a CD-RW. I've tried UltraIso, PowerIso and IMGburn. It seems to burn fine, but with two programs (UltraIso and IMGburn)I get problems verifying the disk. IMGburn even tells me some diagnostic but cryptic messages, and also told me that one of the sectors is smaller than the sectors in the image. Does this therefore mean that the disk is at fault, and if so should I try another disk, as I've got ten in total, all CD-RW's? All help would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me mad! P.S. Oh yes, the problem is it burns ok, but when I try to start it with the computer it doesn't seem to boot properly and I no doubt get an error message, to which I've got no eyeballs to help me read it. Thanks in advance, as this is driving me mad!
