I just checked out this site myself and tried one of the "free" scans.
Scams with an "m" is more like it. When I clicked on the link to scan the
speed of my Internet connection, I got a pop-up menu to install a program
called Active Speed. So I went ahead and installed it only to discover that
this program was only "free" for the first 30 days, after which it would
cost $29.99 per year. This seemed fishy to me, so I immediately uninstalled
it. I found a couple of reviews that claim that Ascentive Software, the
company behind the Finally Fast.com web site uses deceptive practices to get
you to part with your cash. Nowhere on the Finally Fast.com site is the
cost of Active Speed or any other program mentioned. A few reviewers
claimed that their computers actually ran slower after they installed this
so-called optimization program. So my advice is to avoid this site like the
plague.
