Hi Folks,

I'm using a Windows XP home machine, running the standard on-board sound card
and Jaws 10 latest build.

I also have a V-Tech Skype cordless phone.

I find that when I leave the phone plugged in, and restart my computer, Jaws
does not come back speaking.

The program is active, but Jaws simply isn't speaking.

I have turned on NVDA and have confirmed that Jaws is active as when I press
enter on the Jaws 10 icon, the Jaws menu pops up.

To resolve the problem, I have to shut down Jaws and restart it.

Does anyone know if this can be by-passed or maybe eliminated altogether?

As a side note, I have confirmed at one point, when I picked up the phone to
make a call right after re-booting my computer, as I was speaking to the other
party over the telephone, I noticed that Jaws was coming through the hand set
of the cordless phone.

Keep in mind that this does not happen if the phone is unplugged as I reboot
the computer, or when I shut Jaws down and restart it after a reboot.

If I am going to get Jaws coming over the Skype phone, it has to be used right
after a reboot and the phone plugged in.

Oh, I should also note that Jaws will not come through the handset unless I'm
on a call.

If the phone is just sitting there, Jaws will not come through.

Does anyone have a solution or explanation as to why this is happening?

I have surmised that the Skype phone is taking the place of my sound card at
start up, but this wouldn't explain why I am able to get NVDA or other windows
sounds through the computer, but not Jaws.

I have confirmed this happening on, both my desktop computer running a Quad
Core, and my laptop, running a dual core processor.

Any help would be appreciated.
