I am not clear what the problem is that you are referring to, apart from your description that your keyboard is screwed up. Do you want the keyboard layout to be UK or not? The quick way to switch keyboard layouts is alt key plus shift key in XP so I imagine this will work in Vista as well. Is it a layout issue, or are you getting unexpected characters when you type?
