[Blind-Computing] A Mac Question

Thinking, when my present machines go South, of acquiring a mac.
It has an audio program called "Garage band" which is apparently very 
accessible with Voiceover.
Can someone tell me whether that program does MIDI, or is it just for audio?
Probably a strange question for this list, but thanks in advance for any reply.
