The answer to that depends on which version of Skype you're using. In Skype 2.8, you go into the Skype window, then into the call menu; arrow down to answer, then right-arrow to open that submenu, where you'll get info on who's calling. Press enter to answer. You'll be asked if you want to put the other caller on hold. To join the new call with the current one, instead of stopping on answer, you would arrow down to add incoming call to current conversation, or something similarly worded. This procedure has changed quite a bit in version 4.
