Yeah. I know that. See the version of Office 2007 that I bought didn't
come with Outlook. It just came with Word, Excel, Power point, and some
Note program. Since I use Windows Mail to check my e-mail I am going to
have to buy Outlook 2007 now. Which is a lot cheaper than me upgrading my
Jaws license, if I bout Windows 7 Ultimate.

Sorry, but Outlook does work natively with Windows 7. At least Outlook
2007 does. Not sure if Outlook 2003 does. Thoughts?

Good looking out Chris. Now I can better weigh out the factors when I
purchase the upgrade. See the thing with me is for me to upgrade my
Jaws license to Professional, I have to pay an additional $300. Right
now, it is not looking like it is worth it. I think I am just going to
buy Outlook since that is the only thing I would use in the virtue mode.

In theory, yes. To be honest it's really meant for businesses or
professional consumers who wish to migrate from XP to 7 without any
additional hardware or software requirements, apart from the ones
listed. It's also useful for people requiring to use software that
doesn't yet work with 7, but does work with XP. It would also save time
and cost too since the XP you download and use is a legal virtual
machine (Microsoft did design this, after all). To be honest though,
even if we didn't have the facility we could use one of the many free
or paid for virtualization solutions and create our own "xp mode". It's
not the same but it's a compromize.

It allows you to run programs that can't run under Windows 7
natively. What happens is that you download two components, Windows
Virtual PC and a virtual machine running XP SP3. What happens next is
that you start this virtual machine, then, on your Windows 7 start
menu you'll see applications that come with XP, such as IE6, Outlook
Express, etc. What then happens is that the application runs,
silently, inside this virtual machine, but actually appears and
functions on your Windows 7 desktop. Once you've closed the
application, the virtual machine also closes. At least that's how I
interpret this anyway. The feature is called XP mode. You can only
use this, however, on higher versions of Windows, and your PC must
support either Intel virtualization or the equivalent for AMD
processors. Hope this helps.
