[Blind-Computing] problem with my computer in xp

Over the last few days I've been having a problem with my computer on my xp
pro laptop. When I go into my computer, nothing happens, and in task manager
it's not responding. The only thing I can see is that the status line says
13 objects.
Also the same thing happens with windows explorer.
Any help would be most welcome, it's very annoying.
