Hi Ken,
Press enter on Avast in the system tray, and hit enter on the stop on-access protection option.
You will get a dialogue warning you, just spacebar the yes button.
When you are finished, just go back to the system tray, and press enter on the start on-access protection.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] How to turn Avast on and off

I believe I asked this some time back but I've lost the notes I made. I need to turn Avast anti virus off in order to install a program. I then need to turn it back on. How do I do this?

I'm using the free version of Avast.

Thanks,

Ken
