You can only upgrade from Vista. Not even 7 RC will support the upgrade. XP
certainly doesn't. In those situations do a clean install.

The deal is for the upgrade disk. I'm not clear on whether it's for
upgrading from any versio of Windows or from Vista only. Online places
such as Amazon will offer you this deal by default.
