Gee, I remember the early days using Jaws and all of the help I needed.
I really appreciate all of the people who helped me.

Yvonne, you will do just fine and I am sure that there are many of us who will help in every way we can.

Take care.

but only being blind since 2003 and difficulty using screen readers this is not so easy i would need someone to talk me through it on skype and i would record it on mini disc to practise

Yvonne,
If you are trying to send an audio file as an attachment, there are several
things you need to consider.

1. GoldWave saves audio as a .wav file unless instructed to do otherwise.
That kind of file is very large and may not necessarily pass through the
size restrictions imposed by most e-mail service providers.
The best way to send a file like that is either in .mp3 or the Windows
Media equivalent.

2. In order to attach an audio file to a message, you have to know exactly
where the file is located and what the name is. If you're using GoldWave
and you aren't aware of where the files are being stored, do a Search for .wav files on your computer. There will probably be quite a few of them but one of them should be the file you want to attach. In that list, you will hear not only the file name but also the folder in which the file is stored.
You can copy that file and paste it to your Desktop for easy attachment.
Or, you can save it anywhere you'd like that is convenient for you.

3. If this file was originally recorded on GoldWave, it is quite easy to
convert the file to .mp3 format. Once you have brought up the file, open
your File list by pressing Alt F.
Arrow down to Save As, which is quickly reached by using the accelerator key
"A". You will be asked for a file name. Then carefully tab through the
choices you have. There will be elements which refer to the byt rate and so on but the important thing to remember is to save that file in .mp3 format
by choosing that option from the list provided.

4. Once your file has been converted to .mp3 format, exit GoldWave and open
your e-mail client. I'm only familiar with Outlook Express. In that
particular software package, you would first choose the person you're
sending to, tab through the various fields until you reach the subject line,
enter something which tells the recipient that you are sending a file
attachment. In most cases, Outlook Express will alert the reader of an
attachment.
Tab to the editable field where the message is to be written.
I always write something there.
Finally, press Alt I, and press Enter on the "File Attachment" option.
You can now specify the location of the file by entering the entire file
path. For example,
C:\sounds\goofy.mp3
Once the file name is correct, you press Enter again and it is attached to the message. You are placed back in the Edit box and you send the message
normally.
That's about it, Yvonne. Good luck.
I hope I didn't miss anything.
