I wish I had a better answer! Deploying sites with Flash, even when no audio or video is involved, is getting very popular. Flash is very difficult for any screen reader. In some cases it is impossible for screen readers, no matter what they do. Even the tracking of the JAWS cursor (mouse) to follow the PC cursor (focus) does not always work properly. Flash takes over control in many cases. In my opinion, Freedom Scientific does not seem interested in resolving Flash problems. Because of its popularity and major companies like Google developing "applications" in the cloud, this will be critical! Adobe made it easier to make Flash accessible last year with the release of CS4. It makes many controls like play, pause, volume... accessible almost automatically. It is still up to the developer to add the access information and sometimes add a little code. Within Flash professional CS4, each control has an accessibility panel to add the necessary information. Most of the time developers do not consider accessibility when putting together a web site. So make sure that you let them know there is an issue. try to be specific about which controls are not working. Perhaps you can direct them to Adobe's resources at:

Mark, I notice this sort of thing happening on many sites lately. I try all kinds of things, but sometimes links just won't work.

If anyone has any suggestions or workarounds for this, please post them.

Hi
From what I can tell I am running the latest flash player... still there are an increasing number of links that won't open when I click them. Is this a flash issue or do I need to look for some thing else. Some of these links are on a website in college that has been working well for over a year now. What do I do next?

God bless,
Mark

Well Dan. Get used to flash my friend. A whole lot of sites are gonna have flash everywhere along with web 2.0 content. I'm using IE 8 here and that
didn't come up for me when I installed the latest update to flash last
Friday.

Hi folks.
I need some pointers on downloading this little monster. I really don't
give a hoot about flash content anyway, but some of the sites I've been
going to lately insist on it. I am running Windows XP home, Jaws 9 and IE7. when I try to download the player, even after I close all tabs as they tell
me to, after I click the "agree and install" link, a message comes up
telling me that "this web site wants to download adobe download manager", or
some such thing.
I'm not the most handy with all the accessability features in IE7 so maybe
there's something I'm not doing, but could somebody give me an
easy-to-understand explanation of how to download this, because I'm just
plain confused by the fact that what I end up with is a window that says
something like adobe download manager, and it just sits there.
Any help would be appreciated, and as always, thanks in advance.
