Hello rick,
I did as you asked me. I went to this location.
C:\Documents and Settings\Randy\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{EFBBDDD2-A9C8-435F-A1B7-050EE6B00A7B}\Microsoft\Outlook
Express

I renamed the inbox.dbx to inbox.dbx.old.
It's still doing the same thing. I just about gained focus on a message
when the disc activity started up again.
this is truly getting on my royal nerves.
is there any other way?
