Subject: [Blind-Computing] help for a friend, unable to browse the
internet

HI guys.

I have a friend with a problem and thought i'd ask for suggestions.
His computer was running fine, until his power went out. when it
restarted he found he is able to access skype and use his voip phones
but unable to browse the net with either IE or firefox. he is able to
access the net on a different machine using the same connection.
we have tried repairing the conection, resetting the router, defragging
the computer, and doing a system restore. we have also tried setting
internet explorer to it's default settings. also tried disabling fire
walls and anti virus.
Anything else we can try?
thanks in advance
