I hoppe you are not confusing formatting with defragging. I do take it you mean formatting as in wiping it clean of anything on there, as you would in order to reinstall your pc? You can formatting by popping in your OS cd. Or if you just want to format a single drive on your pc then just mark that drive, hit the application key and find format drive. If you want to format the drive that your os is installed on you cannot do it from there, you then have to use your os cd. chrissy
