I am not sure of any hardware risks to the scanner itself but as I
understand it, it is generally considered to be better to close scanners
because of potential risk to eyes through the brightness of the light.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] A scanner question

   Hi all,
I have a cannon scanner led a 60. I hurd that the cover must not be
opened after scanning while the laser is still working. Is it true? If yes,
why?
   Thanks and best regards!
