Depending on why you specifically want nothing on the clipboard, the
simplest workaround is to do something as simple as selecting a blank
space, and then hit Ctrl + C to make that the only thing on the clipboard.

If you actually want nothing for real on the clipboard, then not 100% sure
how meant to do it, but anyway...
