Hi Dan, I know of a couple of people who have done what you are asking. The reason for it is to get the harddrive as cold as possible so that it takes longer for it to heat up and crash. The longer the drive can run before overheating the longer you have to extract information from it. Hope my explanation makes sense. Take care. Mike
