I use a paid version of AVG9, and I have not experienced any such problem.

I totally agree with the sentiment to explore and figure out the problem
rather than just abandon the AVG ship. I have found the program to be
excellent for the last couple of years and I too have paid a subscription
that will last for another year or two. Unless the problem is found to be
unsolvable by us, the users, and unfixable by the developers. What I'm
hoping to do is learn how to fix it by doing just what we are doing here,
comparing experiences. So far, I haven't heard from anyone besides
Patricia
(and one other person on this list whose name is not coming to me right
now)
that they are experiencing a similar problem. Patricia and I are both
using
XP Pro and we have Rafost who is using Vista Home Premium and is not
having
the issue. Are there any other users of AVG on this list that can share
their experiences?

Hi,
I surely wish I could help. I'm running with the latest build of Jaws
under windows vista home premium and have never encountered such a window
as you and others have described.
I just wanted to state that it might not be necessarily to abandon AVG on
mass as the affliction doesn't seem to happen everywhere. Sorry I can't
help more.

Robin,
Please tell me how that "web browser" is not popping up on your
computer?
I am wondering if it has anything to do with what operating system is
running. I am still on xp pro or the window's media 2005 which according
to FS it's considered to be xp pro.
Even though AVG said v/9 works still with xp I can't seem to get rid of
this thing.

oh boy Patricia, I didn't realize you laid out money for it. I'm kind
of sorry you did. I really don't know how to rid yourself of the pop
up
issue. Others here probably do, but that's why I dumped it. I hope
someone is more knowledgeable than I am. I am stumbling around still
trying to get a handle on windows 7. smile.

Thanks Jim, please post it. This AVG 9 however, isn't the free
version, but guess it doesn't matter.

Patricia, I have been playing with AVG, and finally switched to
Microsoft essentials. It in my opinion works just as well as the
free
edition of AVG does, and I think better. If you want the direct link
to it, I can post it to you. Give it a try. I rethink you might like
it.

I wanted to share this bit of info regarding that "web browser"
window that pops up randomally while I'm working, and it forces me
to press the escape key and then I have to alt tab back to my
window.
I have tried to uncheck everything I felt I could within AVG 9 that
could pertain to this in hopes it would stop, but it just
continued..
So I enabled the "pop up" in internet explorer and even though this
thing still pops up on me, now with that enabled, I can press the
escape key only and I'm back where I was before it appeared.
Hope this might be helpful to anyone else using AVG 9.
Patricia
