Very simple. Just pull off the protective cap at the bottom of the player
to expose the USB connector, then push down on the small ridges on the back
of the player to remove the battery compartment cover. Install the AAA
battery facing down, and replace the cover and cap. The cap holds the
battery compartment cover securely in place, so if you drop the player the
battery won't come flying out.
