The only real commonality between Magic Jack and Skype is that they are both VOIP services. HTH, Rick Justice ----- Original Message ----- From: "kim kelly" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, December 30, 2009 1:15 PM Subject: Re: [Blind-Computing] Magic Jack

It allows one to make calls over the internet. A person usually has free long distance in their own country. The magic jack costs just under $2 a month in the United States. Most of the time it works great. However, occasionally there is a delay between what one says and what the other person hears. Then if one is having a long conversation such as I do with my girlfriend, it will eventually take a syllable that she says and keep repeating it to me. On her end there is a clicking noise and it hangs up on her. All though this is annoying I have had relatively good success with the magic jack. If this succeeds then the scanner driver will appear before the scanning takes place and you can ensure that duplex is set before the scan results are sent back to your OCR program. I cannot guarantee that this will work but it works with other OCR programs like Microsoft document Scanning to deliver duplex scanning. You could try Microsoft Document scanning anyway with your scanner as the OCR is excellent. I was using read iris 11 and decided to upgrade to read iris 12. Some how in the process the computer decided that I only want to use the OCR software in single sided scans. I have a scanner that scans both sides of the paper at a time. I can do a double sided scan using the software that came with the scanner but the OCR is terrible. So, I decided to switch to Text Cloner Pro. The problem is that it is only scanning one side of the page at a time also. It gives me a message saying that it cannot find a particular read iris file. I removed read Iris and so I wonder why it is looking for this file? How do I get Text cloner pro to figure out that it can scan in double sided mode? I appreciate any ideas.
