Hi David,
For security reasons, it is not recommended to share the route of a drive,
but you can still share folders on that drive without mapping the drive.
Give this a try:
1. On each machine, select a folder on the C drive, and then select sharing
and security from the file menu.
You can also create a folder to share.
In the resulting dialogue, tab thru the controls, and check the boxes as
necessary,
and then apply the changes and okay the dialogue.
2. Run the Network Setup Wizard on both machines to set up your network.
After running the wizard on each machine, reboot.
If you follow the steps in the wizard carefully, after the computers have
rebooted, they should see each other on the network.
Note:
If you are using a software firewall, it may be necessary to configure the
firewall to allow the connections.
If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask, there are others
on the list that have experience with networking.
HTH,
Rick Justice

I am sure there is another way of doing this but I just don't know any. Only
way I do know is to have a home network and share the folders on each
computer you want to work with.
