There ain't one for us in the united states. But if you call 1-800-goog-411 you might be able to find a Canadian number. That number was discontinued for us some time ago. I don't know whether it was for you Canadians as well. There is music on hold. I wanted to know whether it was possible to change the choice of music to match music of one's own taste. I couldn't find an answer. I suspect it can't be done. Also, a down side to the product is if you get into technical trouble their technical support sucks. There is a chat line but unless you just love typing it won't serve you well. That is why the service costs 20 dollars annually. If you don't have Magic Jack, and want to try it, you can purchase it on line. This I did. You are charged 40 dollars initially for the device and the first year of service. You aren't charged however till the thirty day free trial is over and you haven't sent it back. That was how it worked for me. If you return it as instructed on line with the original packaging in tact before the thirty days are over, and pay for return shipping, you won't be charged at all. I believe retailers such as best buy, and radio shack also sell the magic jack. If you purchase the device from them you also have the option of returning the product within the thirty day limit. There is an option to purchase a 5 year license. Which is only an option. This is encouraged, but again it is only an option. I did after I fell in love with the product. Now, I need not pay for the product till 2013 again. You can purchase Magic Jack devices for loved ones over seas, and they can call the United States for free as well. There are international rates which you can pay for by putting money on your on line account. I am told by people who do quite a lot of international telephoning the international rates are reasonable. As I said before, for 20 dollars annually, with an initial 40 dollar investment you can't beat the product for what it does. If you don't like it you can return it. Further, if you have more than one working jack in your home, you can keep your land line while using your magic jack strictly for long distance if that suits you better. I only have one working jack in my home. I see no point in redundancy. But that is just because I am eccentric, and travel to the beat of a different drummer. If they could only find the drummer. Because I haven't found him yet. Anyway, I use a USB head set which jaws comes through. This may make a difference, as jaws doesn't come through my speakers. If you access
www.magicjack.com
it might be a fine idea to use a USB head set because a rather annoying infomercial plays. I just turned off my speakers and read the site. I suspect the infomercial would conflict with the listening to of your screen reader. There is also a very helpful faq knowledge base which will answer many questions. My magic jack works through my telephone head set, as I haven't figured how to cause my microphone to interact with it. I set my sounds to come through my on board sound card. I say this because some have had trouble because jaws was speaking through their telephone hand set after they installed Magic Jack. I had that problem till I learned to have the sounds set to come through my sound card. However, if a USB head set is plugged in to a USB port, jaws will use that as a second sound card, and recording can be done using your on board sound card, as sounds are set to come from your on board card. Music can be listened to this way as well. I mentioned this can be done using jaws, as I don't know whether it can be done using the other screen readers. But, you have thirty days to try out the product. I have recommended magic jack to at least one person who didn't like it and returned it. When Magic Jack comes you will just plug it in to your USB port and follow the instructions. I do admit I had sight assistance with the initial installation but I think that was just because I was a timid soul. I believe I could well have done it myself if I had wanted to. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kenbu" <[email protected]>

It costs nothing at all to call Canada. If one goes into Magic Jack from the system trey, and goes in to advanced settings, there is a thing called "my Magic Jack." One is taken on line and there one finds one's account. One can also use one's account to forward calls and change the 911 support should one change Magic Jack locations. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark" <[email protected]>

Hi
I have a magic jack and was concerned about how much it costs to call from the United states to Canada. After investigating the website I am still not sure. Does any one have the complete answer on this? The second thing I am wondering about is how do I check my magic jack account online?
    Thank you for your help.

God bless,
Mark
