Hi to all on list:

First let me say a happy new year to all, here's hoping it's gonna be a prosperous one.

Well Santa was good to me this year, he got me a new Dell machine with Windows 7. As of now I don't have too many questions, except for one. Last week I decided to switch to Thunderbird since Outlook Express isn't supported by new Windows 7. I then chose to install Thunderbird on my other machine running Windows XP. Right away the import wizard started and my mail and other settings were imported. My mistake, was to delete most of my mail from Outlook Express. My dad hooked up both computers with a cable and then did the transfer. In theory this is supposed to work, and it did except for most of my imported folders, which store email messages from the Jaws list, the skype chat list and the blind tech info list. These folders don't show when I arrow through my list of available folders. What happened, is kind of difficult to explain. When my files were transferred to my new machine, the mail I didn't yet delete from Outlook Express got transferred onto my new machine in such a way that I could access those folders from inside Thunderbird. I am convinced that the imported mail boxes are stored somewhere on my hard drive. Is there a way I could recover the mail that didn't get transferred? I'm finding that Windows 7 stores files differently than Windows XP. Fortunately, I backed up my imported mail onto a thumb drive so hopefully, not all is lost. I already know the names of the folders, and there is another table of contents type file that matches the name of the folder. The problem is, where do I store them in Windows 7?

Why did I choose Thunderbird? The scripts from Empowerment zone helped me decide to do this, and I don't regret it.

Hal
