I use Avast with Outlook Express on XP pro sp3 and have no problems. There were no special settings with OE or Avast that were required. Did you try going into the Avast Internet Mail settings to see if there is something obvious that needs to be changed? You could also try removing Avast and then reinstalling it, just in case something got messed up during the install.

Greeting!
I am using OutlookExpress. Whenever I am sending email, I have to stop on access protection of avast temporarly from the system tray in order to let the email to be send. However, if Avast's access protection is active, the email remain in outbox. Is there configuration setting to send email with out diactivating the access protection?
Thanks in advance.
