providing you have a home network set up. Wireless if the laptop is wireless
of course. Open up the external drive on the laptop and create a folder that
you would like to share. It is not recommended to share the route of a
drive. When you are done open this and copy any folders you would like to
share into it. Then go to the properties for the drive you just created and
control tab to the sharing tab and tab once there should be a checkbox or
something there that says to share this drive check this or hit enter here.
It will then open another checkbox which you should check. I forget exactly
what it says but it will be there. Then tab to ok and hit enter. You have it
shared now and it can be accessed through network places on the vista
machine. It is not so easy to do this from a vista machine though. I have
had more luck with a windows 7 one.
