Hi,
When I was given instructions what I wanted to do did not work. When you
follow the instructions I will outline, you will only change the user name
that is on the start menu and the log on window.
1. Windows key r and type in regedit.
2. Down arrow until you hear HKEY_local machine. This will be a treeview,
so right arrow to expand it.
3. down arrow or press the letter S until you hear software and right arrow
there as well.
4. Arrow down to Microsoft or press M until you hear Microsoft and right
arrow.
5.. Now press W or down arrow until you hear windows NT and right arrow
again to open the treeview.
6. After expanding the treview, tab into the list, press "r" without the
quotes until you hear registered owner.
7. Now if your cursor is placed on the registered owner, press alt E for
edit and enter on modify.
Type in the name and click ok.
As everyone has told me be careful not to make any unnecessary
changes/mistakes while in the registry because you can possibly mess
something up. So please be careful and let me know how it works for you.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Changing owner's name on computer

I think this was asked a while ago, but now I find I need to know how to
change the computer to my name.

Can someone give me directions for doing this?

Help will be appreciated.

Arianna
