Sounds like you need a new battery. You may want to check and see if there were any recalls on it. I found after the fact when I had my del laptop there was one.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] notebook problems

hi.
using a toshiba a300 satellite psag4a 20300m.
and using jaws 11 standard, windows vista home preimum, 2 gb ram, 250 gb
hard disk, 2.1 ghz processor.
ati radium video card, real tech audio manager
now in the system tray.
i plug my calbe into the power socket.
and had to take out the battery yesterday.
yesterday and the day before about 7 pm.
i heard the battery was shutting down and then got to 0.
and it shut off.
well it would not power on for 5 to 10 minutes.
then decided to power up.
now i check the battery metre using windows b.
and arrow up to the battery.
was saying 99% plugged in charging.
now it is saying 1:39 hr left 91%.
so wondering.
is it possible that my battery is on the way out.
any one had any problems before.
so what to do?
purchase a new battery.
could it be the power pack, that could be a bit dodgy.
well stupidly trod on the power cable, ripped out the power connector.
and the shaft.
but got a friend to repair that and solder it and put tape around it.
it has been working fine for about a month.
until i started getting this problem this week.
what to do?
Marvin.
