Hi David,
I'm not sure about Windows Media Player,
Here's how to do it in WinAmp.
I am using WinAmp 2.8, but the steps should be similar in later versions.
I will give you a quick run-thru, and you can experiment with the other
settings at your leisure.
1. Open WinAmp, and press Control+P for preferences.
2. This is a tree-view, so down arrow until you come to plug-ins,
and right arrow to open it, if it is closed.
3. Down arrow to Output, and again right arrow to open it if it is closed.
4. This will be a list of all of the output plug-ins currently installed in
WinAmp,
and this will vary from version to version, depending on the plug-ins that
are installed.
5. Down arrow and look for:
Crossfading DirectSound output v1.37[out_ds.dll]
If you don't have this one, you will need to select one from the list, and
follow the steps below, to find one that works with multiple devices.
6. Next, tab to the configure button, and spacebar that.
7. When this dialogue opens, tab until you come to the device combo-box, and
then use your up and down arrows to locate the device you want to use.
8. At this point, you can tab thru the available settings and make changes
and then tab to the okay button, and press enter, or simply press enter to
save your changes.
9. After pressing the enter key on the okay, you will be returned to the
configure button, so just tab until you come to the close button, and
spacebar that.
close WinAmp and then re-open it for the changes to take effect.
You are done
HTH,
Rick Justice
