There are often unpredictable and varied problems with sending large files by email. This is why there are many web sites which provide an alternative way of doing this. For example a free option is www.sendspace.com. You do not have to log in register or pay for premium services though there are various advantages offered if you do any of these things. Using this method you can upload your song and then simply send an email with a link to download it.
I would suggest that this is the most easy way to accomplish what you want.
