I know years ago when I started using JAWS I was sighted. I had an instructor recommend to me to just spend a bit of time each day getting used to it with the monitor off. I found this helpful because the program does not make sense, or at least it didn't to me, trying to use it from a sighted perspective. Just my experience and two cents.
