Hello Gerald:
Unfortunately, its a hud building which has about 250 people living in it.
But thanks for responding. It was a nice dream, but when you consider all
thatyou have stated, your probably right on the money.

Is your building a rental or co-op? If you're renting, the chances of
getting your landlord to install wi-fi throughout your building are
probably slim to none. I can't even get my landlord to replace my
60-year -old stove. But if your building is co-op, you might be able to
persuade the co-op board to install wi-fi if a majority of other tenants
also want it. I'm not aware of any older apartment buildings here in
Manhattan that have been upgraded with building-wide wi-fi. This would be
an expensive project, and given the current economic climate, most tenants
would probably not want to pay higher rent or maintenance fees for it.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Question about wify connections and wireless
inapartment building.
Good morning everyone:
I would very much like to ask the following question on the list for
informational purposes. In approximately in about 8 or 10 months from
now, Our building here in Manhattan, will be going under major
renovation. The result of this will include, putting in new flooring,
updating the electricity, putting in new kitchen cabinets, and improving
the lighting in hauls and individual apartments. Now, here is the
questions that I would like too ask. I'm thinking of presenting too our
tenants association board, too ask the members of our housing board the
following. How can a building be setup for wify throughout the building.
If a person has wireless connection conductivity in there apartment, can
wify still be setup throughout the building anyway? Also we have both a
rear yard, as well as a ruff garden that has benches where tenants can
sit and take in the fresh air, when weather permits. Can this area have
wifi access as well? Is there any kind of specialized equipment that
needs too be installed for this purpose throughout the building, and if
so, does anyone here know how much this project would cost if they were
too except it? The reason that I'm asking these questions, is because
since many of us who live in the building have laptops, and netbooks, I
think it would be nice too be able too go anyware through out the
building, too be able too access a connection too web sites or anything
else that we might want, and have access too any of these features if we
as tenants, were too have wify conductivity both in and out of our
building.
If anyone on the list here has any advice or suggestions about anything
that I've mentioned on this subject, all would be very much appreciated.
