I finally got it online! I'm so proud of myself!
I just kept checking this and that and I did the right thing, it seems.

Ariana, open up a command window and type in "ipconfig /all". That will
tell you if you have access to a DHCP and DNS server(s). If you are not
sure post the entire contents of the output from that command here.
