Was that ethernet card recently installed?

If not (meaning it has been in the PC for a while), was it ever recognized?

It may be that your ethernet card has bit the dust, or it could mean that there is no driver software or the driver software has gotten corrupted.

If you have the CD that came with the ethernet card try re-installing the driver software.,
